VR Life Support Training for ECMO Therapy

This project focused on the design and development of an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) life support training and simulation module for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) therapy, a critical, high-risk procedure used to support patients with severe respiratory or cardiac failure. Developed at Elm Park Labs, the platform was created to give healthcare professionals a realistic, repeatable environment to train, practice, and refine ECMO workflows without risk to patients.

As Product Manager and Designer, I led the human-centered design effort—working closely with clinicians, engineers, and developers to translate complex clinical protocols into intuitive, interactive VR experiences. The module emphasized accuracy, usability, and clinical relevance, enabling teams to rehearse decision-making, coordination, and procedural steps under realistic conditions. The result was a scalable training tool designed to improve preparedness, confidence, and patient outcomes in high-acuity critical care settings.
