BIOVIGIL technology utilizes a simple room sensor, a plug-in base station and a small personnel use badge similar to a standard identification badge. The system is designed to detect and monitor hand washing events and automatically communicate compliance information to base stations located within the facility and securely forward data, with or without using the facilities local area network, to an internet cloud host for compliance reporting and application functions. It was my pleasure to work with BioVigil to re-design their already great product by preserving existing hardware from their generation 1 product to keep costs low while preserving the overall look and appearance with improved functionality.

 

The decision to move from the original horizontal version to the a slimmer vertical arrangement was not only an aesthetic improvement but was inspired by a functional need to prevent clinicians inner arms from colliding with the device when reaching across their body to perform various tasks. The design has been made even smaller as technology advances and BioVigil continues advance their compelling hygiene technologies.
